Just saw Limpopo over lunch today (8/19/1998) at the Empire State Plaza. It's the first time I've ever heard "modern" Russian folk music. I'm still trying to figure out how songs played in a minor key can sound so happy and make you want to dance!

I'm originally from Washington state but I'm here to visit family before I fly to Russia where I'll be living for the next year. I was lucky enough to catch one of your shows at the Minnesota state fair. Although I am a long way from fluent in Russian, your music was incredible. You have an incredible stage show!! I first heard of you 3 months ago when my brother gave me your CD "give us a break". I thought the music was great! Now, I have my friends hooked on your music. I heard your band play for the first time at the Los Angeles County Arts Festival (5-20-00). Before the band came on I turned to my husband and asked if he had ever heard Russian music before, and he said no. Not knowing what to expect I almost left, but thank goodness I didn't. I love your music! It was high energy and loads of fun. Yuri is a blast! My family and I had a great time.

I just saw Limpopo preform here in Palm Desert(7-20-00) and they were funny and great. It was a fantastic show, alittle hot out but I forgot about the heat watching them. I hope they return next year
